Marty Zupancic

Senior Vice President Investments
Senior Managing Director, National Multi-Housing Group

Marty Zupancic leads a team of multifamily investment advisors specializing in the Washington, DC submarket. Through his collaboration with clients, extensive market knowledge, analytical approach, and attention to detail, he has developed an extensive track record of executing on assignments for a diverse client base.

He is an expert in navigating Washington, DC’s complex TOPA Laws (Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act), Rent Control Laws, Condo Conversions, Portfolio Sales, Ground-Up Multifamily Development, Assemblages, Distressed Assets, Repositions, Foreclosure and Bankruptcy. Mr. Zupancic’s calm, steady, methodical approach, brings clarity, focus, and a clear executable path to achieving client goals.

He is a Director of Marcus & Millichap’s National Multi Housing Group and has been recognized repeatedly by the firm for his consistent achievements as a top producing multifamily investment advisor within the Washington, DC office and nationwide. Awards and Honors include National Achievement Awards, Sales Recognition Awards, Rookie of the Year Award, Pace Setter Award, Most Difficult Deal Award, as well as many others. He is regularly quoted by local publications covering the DC real estate market.

Mr. Zupancic graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park, earning of Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a specialization in Ecology, the Environment and Evolution. Before joining Marcus & Millichap, he worked in the IT industry as a software developer, analyst, and business intelligence software engineer, and in 2003 opened the first coffee shop and café on 11th Street in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, hiking, collecting Native American artifacts, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Nick Murray

Senior Associate

Nick Murray is a multifamily investment sales associate with the Zupancic Group of Marcus & Millichap’s Washington, DC office. He is responsible for business development and investment sales of multifamily assets throughout the Washington Metro Area.

Nick joined the Zupancic Group in July, 2017 after working for CBRE’s top office leasing team. He provides market research consultation while also focusing on specialized investment strategies for clients looking to fulfill their real estate investment goals.

Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Nick attended Lafayette College in Easton, PA. There, he played two years of NCAA Division I baseball. He is a passionate DC sports fan and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Eric Jentoft-Herr

Associate

Eric Jentoft-Herr is the Director of Operations at The Zupancic Group of Marcus & Millichap. As Director of Operations, Eric is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business. Eric also acts as an advisor to clients, helping them develop customized real estate investment strategies. His advisory role includes assisting clients in the valuation, acquisition, disposition, and financing of multifamily investment properties. At Marcus & Millichap, Eric specializes in markets throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Eric first became passionate about real estate after doing an internship at the Tensquare Group, where he worked on facilities development with Public Charter Schools throughout the United States.

Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Eric founded and managed multiple small businesses such as Ministry of Glass LLC, Live Clean Vermont LLC, and Mercy Direct LLC while attaining his Bachelor’s degree in Economics at The University of Vermont. As a DC native, Eric is an avid fan of DC sports. When Eric is not working, he loves to ski, travel, and spend time with family and friends.

Carissa Barry

Associate

Carissa Barry is a multifamily investment sales associate with the Zupancic Group of Marcus & Millichap’s Washington, DC office. She is responsible for multifamily investment sales, advisory services, research, and business development throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area and Richmond.

Carissa takes a client-centric approach to her real estate business, focusing on building long-term relationships with her clients and providing advisory services, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing of multifamily investment properties. She is committed to providing the highest level of client service services and works tirelessly to maximize the value of her client’s multifamily assets.

Prior to joining the Zupancic Group, Carissa held multiple executive leadership roles in Multifamily Property Management, where she provided strategic leadership focused on increasing value through operational efficiencies, complex value-add programs, and investment property acquisitions. Carissa has over two decades of experience overseeing multifamily assets, which allows her to bring a unique perspective to investment sales and assist her clients in developing customized real estate strategies to achieve their personal and financial goals.

Carissa graduated from Grantham University with a Bachelor of Science in multidisciplinary studies. She enjoys practicing yoga, running, and spending time with her family and dogs in her spare time.

Joseph Tabb

Associate

Joseph Tabb is a multifamily real estate specialist with The Zupancic Group of Marcus & Millichap’s Washington, DC office. As an Investment Sales Associate, Joseph acts as an advisor to his clients, helping them develop customized real estate investment strategies. His advisory role includes assisting clients in the valuation, acquisition, disposition, and financing of multifamily investment properties. At Marcus & Millichap, Joseph specializes in markets throughout Northwest & Northeast Washington DC. Joseph holds a Real Estate Salesperson license in Washington DC and Maryland and is also a member of the National Multi-Housing Group.

Before joining Marcus & Millichap, Joseph attended The College of Charleston where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management. As a native to the Metropolitan Area, Joseph is an avid fan of all DC sports. When Joseph is not working, he enjoys playing sports, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

John Slowinski

Associate

John Slowinski is a multifamily specialist with The Zupancic Group of Marcus & Millichap’s Washington, DC office. He is responsible for multifamily investment sales, advisory, research, and business development throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area. John provides timely market intelligence and works to develop unique strategies to achieve his clients’ specific goals in the multifamily investment sector

John is well connected with a wide range of investors, sellers, and developers and values communication and persistence through each business process step. John is a graduate of Bucknell University, where he developed keen interests in commercial real estate, political science, and business management, while also learning Mandarin Chinese and playing on the club rugby team. He values spending time with family and friends is a passionate DC sports fan, and enjoys listening to podcasts about anything from movies and music, to business and world history.

Ryan Murray

Associate

Ryan Murray is a multifamily investment sales associate with The Zupancic Group of Marcus & Millichap’s Washington, DC office. Ryan specializes in markets throughout Northern Virginia, where he is responsible for multifamily investment sales, research, advisory, and business development. He focuses on building long-term relationships with clients to help them reach their real estate investment goals, whether it be through valuation, acquisition, disposition, or financing of their multifamily assets.

Prior to becoming an Associate, Ryan spent two years assisting the day-to-day operations of the Head of the Team, Marty Zupancic. He also served as the first intern at the Northern Virginia Apartment Association. Ryan is a native of the Metropolitan Area and received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Elon University.

Austin Parker

Financial Analyst

Austin Parker joined Marcus & Millichap’s Washington, DC office in August 2022. Austin’s role is a financial analyst specializing in multifamily investments in Washington, DC for The Zupancic Group of Marcus & Millichap. He is responsible for supporting agents through transactions by using financial models to underwrite and assess the profitability of properties.

Before joining Marcus & Millichap, Austin attended Pennsylvania State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business Management and a minor in Supply Chain Management. He began to develop an interest and passion for real estate after graduation, and wanted to find an opportunity where he could pair that with his strong analytical skills and financial knowledge.

Austin is from Annapolis, Maryland and has recently relocated to Silver Spring, MD. Since relocating he has been able to gain a deeper understanding of the DC multifamily market, and looks forward to using that knowledge to better support agents as they navigate transactions. Austin is a fan of all Baltimore sports, and when he is not working he enjoys spending time with family, playing basketball, and cooking.
